I am a dual title PhD student in History and African American studies. Previously, I received my B.A. from Gettysburg College and my M.A. in history from the University of Kentucky. My research focuses on Southern history during the Civil War era, with a particular interest in military occupation and Reconstruction. My M.A. Thesis examined the Freedmen’s Bureau administration of land reform in Reconstruction era South Carolina. Currently, I am exploring a dissertation topic relating to the intersection of disability and race in the 19th century.
