Morgan Haller is a first-year Ph.D. candidate under the advisership of Cathleen Cahill. Her master’s thesis, The “Brave-Hearted Women”, explores how Native women utilized the Mohawk newspaper Akwesasne Notes to voice resistance to colonialism, gendered violence, and the disruption of Native family structures during and after the Red Power movement. Her research focuses include Indigenous activism, feminist politics, and reproductive justice in 19th- and 20th-century U.S. history.
