Biography:

I'm currently a first year graduate student pursuing a Dual-title PhD in History and African-American Studies. Currently under the direction of Dr. Amy Greenburg, my primary field is 19th-century American history, with my broad research interests being American slavery, the U.S. Civil War, and memory of that war. My secondary fields of study are both Gender and Transnational/Global history. I'm interested in examining how the national consciousness towards slavery and the Civil War has transformed over the decades. These areas of research apply to the current day because the contests over the memory of that era haven't come to a close and it continue to affect our national identity and political climate.

Research Interests:

19th-century American history, U.S. Civil War, American Slavery
