Board of Visitors

The Richards Center is pleased to welcome Philip Kocher to the Center’s Board of Visitors. Mr. Kocher is a 1975 graduate of Penn State, earning a bachelor’s degree in General Arts and Sciences. As a student he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, and upon graduation he began working at the Aetna Life Insurance and Casualty Company in Harrisburg. Currently, Mr. Kocher is the Insurance Managing Director at BNY Mellon in Pittsburg, where he has worked since 1997. The Richards Center’s Board of Visitors play an important role in shaping the Center’s future goals and supporting its mission of training graduate students, encouraging cutting-edge scholarship, and promoting research into the central historical themes of the long nineteenth century.
